CAMPAvan.co.uk will supply full  RAC breakdown cover to cover any mechanical faults to the base chassis of the CAMPA van.

Any call or charges necessitated by the client due to operator error, e.g. a flat vehicle battery will be the responsibility of the hirer.

Insurance

Standard excess; the above rate includes a standard excess of £1000. In the event of damage to the vehicle or third-party property, the hirer will be liable for the first £1000.  

The hirer will also be fully liable for the replacement or repair of damaged windows and the replacement of damaged tyres.

Security deposit

There is a refundable £750 security deposit payable by credit or debit card, the amount will not be debited From you or account immediately but by leaving the deposit you agree to pay any relevant charges as per this agreement.

The security deposit is fully refundable on return of the vehicle to the location, on the agreed date and time, in the same condition it was let out to you, the interior, cooking appliances and all utensils clean, with a full tank of fuel. CAMPAvans reserve the right to increase security deposits in specific events such as music festivals, sports fixtures etc. The hirer should be aware that the security deposit will be used to fund any loss or damage to equipment, fixtures and fittings, tyres, windows or any negligent damage to the vehicle.

Minimum hire term

This ranges from 3 to 7 days depending on the season.

Drivers

Age range 25 to 70.
Must have held a full licence for more than 2 years.
Details of additional drivers required.
Supply us with your valid current drivers licence prior to commencement of hire period.
Drivers are personally liable for all legal penalties (parking fines, speeding tickets etc) which are incurred during the hire period.
Maximum of 2 drivers per rental.

What documentation we need prior to hire commencement;

• Copy of photo card drivers licence
• Online license check at gov website
• Two proofs of address separate sources (meet all criteria below)
• Cleared and traceable security deposit (BACS, debit card)
• Signed rental agreement.

Additional criteria

• Drivers must provide 2 further proofs of ID that match the address on the drivers licence.
• Two 3 point convictions are acceptable (i.e. 2 sp30s, 3pts each) single 6 point convictions will need referring to the insurance company.
• No more that one fault. Or outstanding accident/claim/incident in the last 3 years.

The following documentation is acceptable for proof of address alongside the drivers licence:
You must provide the following:

• 1 utility bill / statement (primary form of proof)
• 1 of the documents listed below (secondary proof)

Key document criteria:

• Both must be dated within 90 days of the hire date
• The address & name on your licence must match both documents

What is acceptable?

Primary proof of address;

• Electricity, Water, Gas, Broadband landline, Council tax, TV licence, bank statement, Credit card bill/statement, Mortgage statement, polling card.

Secondary proof of address;

• Student loan, shotgun licence, mobile phone bill, pension letters, car finance statement, loan statement, property deed.

Payment

Availability. Is on a request and confirm basis at the time of reservation. A reservation is only binding after it has. Been confirmed by CAMPAvans and a booking deposit of £200 per week of. Hire has been received.  Settlement of the remaining balance will be due 4 weeks prior to the start of your rental period. Payment is by bank transfer. For late booking (less than four weeks before your rental period) the. Full rental price is payable on booking. Vehicles will not be released without full payment completed.

Cancelation charges

More than 6 weeks; booking deposit
6 weeks to 2 weeks; 50% of hire charge
2 weeks to no show; 100% of. Hire charge

Collection and return

Collection;
Please allow one hour for collection to give us enough time to thoroughly demonstrate all the facilities on board your CAMPAvan

Return;
The CAMPAvan must be returned on the date and before the time stated on the rental agreement. Vehicles must be returned clean and in the same condition they were collected otherwise a charge will be made.

Late return;
If you will be late returning, the rental company must be advised immediately. Failure to advise may result in prosecution for. Driving whilst uninsured. An additional charge of £50.00 per hour will be payable on all late returns.

Delivery and return of vehicle

On collection the vehicle will be  in a clean condition and in sound working order in accordance with the departure checklist and with a full tank of fuel. You will return the vehicle in a clean condition with a full tank of fuel,  on the return date and time set out under the heading due back in the rental agreement. CAMPAvans.co.uk will not refund any monies, nor have any obligation to provide a replacement vehicle, if the vehicle is returned or you cease to have the use of the vehicle prior to the return date for any reason e.g. accident, rather. Or theft.

Rental and other charges

You will pay CAMPAvans;

• All the rental charges
• The security deposit
• The nominal cleaning fee of £75 if the vehicle is not returned with the interior in a clean condition.
• The cost to refill the tank plus £25 for our time.
• The insurance excess in the event of an accident, theft or damage to the vehicle or property of a third party, subject to our insurance cover 9available in the office for your inspection).
• The cancellation fee as set out above in the event of this agreement being cancelled prior to the departure date.
• All government fees and duties etc; All parking fines,  bridge/tunnel tolls,  other fines or penalties.
• Accident damage including third party. Property damage not reported. On return of the vehicle and. Associated administration costs incurred in relation to the vehicle during the rental period.
• Any other fees or charges. Payable by the hirer pursuant to this agreement, this includes any costs incurred by CAMPAvans as a result of breach by the hirer of the terms of this agreement.

The vehicle is insured for damage to the vehicle and the property of a third party.
The hirer will pay and excess for any damage, the insurance excess is £1000.

In the event of the vehicle being stolen with the vehicle keys during the hire period the hirer will be responsible for 25% of the value of the vehicle.  (So please keep the keys VERY safe)

Road restrictions;

All hire vehicle may. Only be driven on tarmac roads, CAMPAvans understand that once you’re on a campsite you will drive on grass or gravel so, please in these circumstances drive slow and careful.

CAMPAvans.co.Uk reserve the rights at. Any time at its sole discretion to restrict vehicle movements in. Certain areas due to adverse road or weather conditions or any other reasonable cause.

Use of the vehicle

The hirer agrees that the during the rental period they will;

• Only drive in a cautious, prudent and normal manner.
• Drive within the legal and advised speed limits.
• Drive the vehicle in the area as indicated to CAMPAvans
• Follow all legal drug and drink driving laws.
• Ensure the ignition key is not left in the vehicle while it is unattended.

Errors in retail charges

• Total charges as set out therein. Are not final. The hirer will pay any shortfall in charges. To CAMPAvans and will receive a refund for any overcharge acknowledged by CAMPAvans

Payment of charges joint and several liability

• All charges and expenses payable by the. Hirer under this agreement are. Due on demand by CAMPAvans If the hirer does not pay all charges when due, the hirer agrees. To pay a late charge of 2.5% per month on the outstanding balance and any collection costs incurred by CAMPAvans including reasonable legal fees. When the hirer. Comprises of more than one person, each person is liable jointly and severall for all obligations. Of the hirer pursuant to this agreement.

Payments

CAMPAvans receive payments by BACS into the following account

Hirers warranties

The hirer warrants that;

• all information supplied to. CAMPAvans in connection with this agreement is true.
• No unauthorised drivers will be permitted to drive the vehicle.
• That the vehicle will not :
  • Be Submersed in water
  • Come into Contact with Salt water
  • Used for any illegal Purpose
  • Used for Any towing purpose
  • Be used to carry passengers for hire or reward.
  • Be used to carry more persons than is permitted by any relevant authority or detailed in the vehicle manual.
  • Be used to carry volatile liquids, gases, explosives or other corrosive or inflammable material.
  • Be used in breech of the hirers obligations under this agreement.

The hirer will be liable for any costs associated with the incorrect use of fuel. ALL OF OUR CAMPAs run on DIESEL.

Responsibilities when accident occurs

In the event of any accident, loss or damage arising out of the use of the vehicle, the hirer should notify CAMPAvans within 24. Hours of the event.

Obtain. The names and addresses of third parties and any witnesses and. Report the event to the nearest police station.

Not make any admissions of liability to other parties, settlement offer or other like offer.

Assist CAMPAvans in handling any claim arising from any event, including providing all relevant information and attending court to give evidence if need be.

The hirer acknowledges that the excess or other amount due by them in respect of any. Damage arising from accident, loss or damage is payable at the time of reporting the event and not at the completion of the rental period.

CAMPAvans are not liable in the case of an accident t provide a replacement vehicle regardless of which party is at fault.

Terminating the agreement

I acknowledge that CAMPAvans may terminate. This agreement and repossess the vehicle at any time, without notification and the hirer will pay the reasonable costs of repossession including towing charges. If;

• The hirer is in. Breach of any terms of this agreement.
• The hirer has obtained the vehicle through fraud or misrepresentation.
• The vehicle is abandoned.
• The vehicle is not returned on the agreed return date or CAMPAvans reasonably believe that the vehicle will not be returned on the agreed return date.
• CAMPAvans considers on reasonable grounds that the safety of passengers or the condition of the vehicle is endangered. The Hirer agrees that in the event of such termination or repossession they have no right to a refund of any part of the rental charges or the security deposit.

 Change of Vehicle

• CAMPAvans reserve the right at its absolute discretion to substitute a suitable vehicle in the event the hire shall not be liable for any increased rental or other charges save for any additional running costs pertaining to the replacement Vehicle. In the unlikely event of a downgrade we will refund. The difference in charges if applicable. Such substitution shall entitle the hirer to a full refund if they decide not to proceed with the hire and does not constitute a. breach of this agreement.

Pets

• The hirer will not allow any animals to be carried in the vehicle unless otherwise agreed with CAMPAvans

Passengers

• CAMPAvans authorizes the use of these vehicles up to the stated number of passengers. Each person is to use the safety restraints, provided at all times whilst the vehicle is in motion.

Maintenance

• I shall take all the reasonable steps to properly. Maintain the vehicle, including oil checks, water and battery.
• The hirer will Pay for the cost of repairing or replacing Tyres damaged during the rental period.

Release and indemnity of CAMPAvans

Subject to its obligation to deliver the vehicle or an appropriate substitute vehicle, the hirer releases CAMPAvans, its employees and agents. From liability to the hirer ((regardless of who is at fault) for any loss or damage incurred by the hirer by reason of this agreement including but not limited to;

• Any loss or damage caused by breakdown, mechanical defect, accident or the. Vehicle being unsuitable for my purpose.

Any loss or damage to any property left in or on the vehicle, in any service vehicle or any on CAMPAvans premises or recovered or handled by CAMPAvans. Subject to any insurance arrangements agreed with CAMPAvans the hirer hereby indemnify and shall keep indemnified CAMPAvans, its employees and agents against any claim, demand and expenses (including legal expenses) incurred or. Sustained by them or any of them by reason of the hirers use and/or possession of the vehicle.

Title to The Vehicle

• The. Hirer acknowledges that CAMPAvans retain title to the vehicle and that the hirer possess the vehicle as a mere bailee only. The hirer does not have any right to plead Gee CAMPAvans credit in connection with the vehicle and agree not to do so. The hirer shall not agree, attempt, offer or purport to. Sell, assign, sublet, lend, pledge, mortgage, let or hire or otherwise, part with or attempt to part with the personal possession of, or otherwise deal with, the vehicle.

Changes

Any changes to this agreement must. Be in writing and must be signed on behalf of CAMPAvans and the hirer.

Proper Law

This agreement shall be governed by the Law of England in which this Law was signed.

Entire agreement

This agreement constitutes the entire agreement of the. Parties and there are no other oral undertakings, warranties or agreements between the parties relating to the subject matter of this agreement. CAMPAvans reserves the right to add or amend any rental charges without prior notice.
